Well Everyone I'm back.
It's been a long break, but I'm ready to sculpt again and this time with a fresh outlook on both the show and sculpting itself.
I have completely changed the way I sculpt. My old method was miserable and sculpting is now a lot more fun.
I used to do a lot of math and calculations to make sure my figures were proportional and show-accurate, but I've done away with all that and now I just eye-ball everything.
I'm fairly satisfied with the results so far and it's had the added benefit of cutting my sculpting time in half.
Normally sculpting a figure like this takes me about 70hrs, but after changing to this new method this only took me ~28hrs. HUGE IMPROVEMENT! My Sanity is saved!
She still has a way to go, but I thought she'd reached the point where I could show a WIP. I still have lots of fine-tune sanding before she's ready to paint.
She stands 5.25 inches (13.5mm) tall and is made entirely from scratch from Fimo puppen doll polymer clay. She does not have any armatures in her apart from a toothpick in the base of the tail and neck and a tinfoil core in her tail to reduce weight.
Overall she is pretty heavy.
I plan on keeping her for awhile, as I'm pretty attached to my figures, but I might put her up for sale later.
I would love to hear your comments and feedback.
Best wishes to you all.
