Pinkie Pie My Little Pony FiM Custom Sculpture WIP by Blackout-Comix Pinkie Pie My Little Pony FiM Custom Sculpture WIP by Blackout-Comix
Well Everyone I'm back.

It's been a long break, but I'm ready to sculpt again and this time with a fresh outlook on both the show and sculpting itself.

I have completely changed the way I sculpt. My old method was miserable and sculpting is now a lot more fun.

I used to do a lot of math and calculations to make sure my figures were proportional and show-accurate, but I've done away with all that and now I just eye-ball everything.

I'm fairly satisfied with the results so far and it's had the added benefit of cutting my sculpting time in half.

Normally sculpting a figure like this takes me about 70hrs, but after changing to this new method this only took me ~28hrs. HUGE IMPROVEMENT! My Sanity is saved!

She still has a way to go, but I thought she'd reached the point where I could show a WIP. I still have lots of fine-tune sanding before she's ready to paint.

She stands 5.25 inches (13.5mm) tall and is made entirely from scratch from Fimo puppen doll polymer clay. She does not have any armatures in her apart from a toothpick in the base of the tail and neck and a tinfoil core in her tail to reduce weight.

Overall she is pretty heavy.

I plan on keeping her for awhile, as I'm pretty attached to my figures, but I might put her up for sale later.

I would love to hear your comments and feedback.

Best wishes to you all.

It's clay. Specifically FIMO 'puppen' clay. :)

I'm so glad you found a way to sculpt that makes you happy! I do a lot of eyeballing too and enjoy it much more.
She is looking great, I can't see anything major I would change. good work. :)

Wow, if you want my opinion you really don't need all the calculations, because this sculpt looks amazing! Besides, you should always have fun with your art!

Thanks! :D

It's not blurry, but it still gives me issues.

The problem is I have the money to get a new camera, but I'd rather spend my money on more fun things. lol.
